It can be very difficult for people to recognize gall bladder pain because the pains and symptoms are so close to other pains and symptoms of digestive complications. If you overeat at dinner, or you eat very rich and spicy foods you may develop severe indigestion that is painful and annoying. If you have gallstones you may also suffer from severe indigestion. The difference will be that when you get indigestion from eating too much food you can take a medicine from over the counter and it will ease the discomfort, but when you have gallstones taking the medication will not make the pain of the indigestion any better.
This is true of the other symptoms that alert you to these hardened cholesterol deposits as well. From the upper abdominal pains that people have to the bloated and uncomfortable feeling they get after meals. No amount of position changing or simple pain medications will make these aches go away.
